Promoting Music Education
That’s why we’re supporting music education at Rougham VCP School by providing instruments and funding for music teachers. We want to encourage a love of classical music and help young people develop their musical talents.
The Rougham Estate Trust is committed to ensuring that the Estate remains a part of the community, now and in the future.

The group has attended several training days led by experienced musicians from outside the group. The trust has helped to fund several of these and continues to do so.

The performances are often accompanied by a large orchestra and directed by a professional conductor. These performances attract audiences of several hundred each time they perform. The trust is now the choir’s principal sponsor.

The trust is ALSO SUPPORTS
"We would like to thank George Agnew and the trustees of the Rougham Estate Trust for their generosity in its funding provision for music at Rougham. This is giving so many more children an opportunity to experience music in a very ‘hands on’ way and enriching their lives.” - Sharon Francis, Music Teacher
In addition to supporting the music education at Rougham Primary School the trust also supports other musical activity in the area.
From time to time the trust also contributes to appropriate fund raising activities for music based projects. It recently helped fund the restoration of a large organ which had been rescued from an abandoned school building and was to be relocated in SWest Suffolk College.
Message from Isobel Bradshaw of Rougham Sings
‘On behalf of Rougham Sings I would like to thank you and the Trustees of Rougham Estate for the donation of £300 towards the group's funds. We begin our rehearsals in February and run through to the July 2025 summer concert. We will happily acknowledge your kind donation in our summer programme. I will discuss with the choir how to make best use of the donation. My suggestion will be that Rougham Estate's donation be used to purchase matching concert folders and ongoing manuscripts / printing costs in 2025.’ Isobel Bradshaw
